Sleepy time

I've been searching for toddler bedding for nigh on two weeks now, to no avail. A mixture of garish patterns, exorbitantly expensive price tags and average fabrics left me very disillusioned indeed. Alas, I stumbled upon the range of bedding (and other divine goodies) by Collette Bream today, and suddenly the world is a better place. Her organic cotton toddler bedding sets come in beautiful muted hues and subtle, sleep-inducing prints all finished with gorgeous ribbon ties. Perfection.

Inside Out magazine first bought this fabulous kid's library gallery to my attention, but the lovely Louise over at Table Tonic really rocked my world with this ridiculously clever (and cheap!) Ikea Bekvam Spice Rack version. Our son loves books and I think an accessible library shelf will be just as satisfying for me as it will be for him. Get Louise's full how-to here. Swiden

I spotted the fabulous designs of Swedish born Charlotte Swiden on The Design Files this week, and was immediately smitten. Colourful, playful and all with a nod to that unmistakably cool Scandinavian style, me thinks her range of cushions, posters and wooden decorations would all make wonderful additions to a nursery or kids room.

As I stepped into the shower a couple of weeks ago it hit me, our bathroom was under occupation by the infamous "Babyland" dictatorship. I'd heard of these kinds of coups in the household before, filling perfectly beautiful rooms with all manner of retina-burning, plastic paraphernalia, and decided nothing short of a revolution was in order. I would need to pull-out the big guns - Egyptian cotton, organic lemons, the cheapest stool known to man and a clever frog. Victory was sweet, my friends. Showering serenity has been restored.
