Inspired: DIY Playdough

I'm just rejoicing over this DIY Playdough recipe I stumbled upon over at Modern Parents, Messy Kids, using Jello crystals for the colouring. The Heart and the Bottle

I just downloaded The Heart and the Bottle iPad App for our little one and I must say I'm smitten. I've been a bit of an iPad App phobe for a while now as I was convinced our son would eventually become addicted to Crazy Birds or have Chuggington on repeat for 3 hours straight. But this virtual book, narrated by Helena Bonham Carter (anyone else love her voice?), is as beautiful as beautiful books get. Magical.

Library gallery

Inside Out magazine first bought this fabulous kid's library gallery to my attention, but the lovely Louise over at Table Tonic really rocked my world with this ridiculously clever (and cheap!) Ikea Bekvam Spice Rack version. Our son loves books and I think an accessible library shelf will be just as satisfying for me as it will be for him. Get Louise's full how-to here. You could have knocked me over with a feather when I saw these simple yet ridiculously effective cloth play spaces by Cool Spaces for Kids. I love that they're cloth (and can be folded away!), I love that they'll fit and work in any space and I love that they've used the classics - Hopscotch, Puppet Theatre and Playhouse. Genius.
